Level 1 / sandy bottom
Beginner Beach
Knee-high rolling whitewater over soft sand, with the beach right behind you. This is where almost everyone stands up for the first time, usually inside the first hour.
- Wave 0.4 to 0.9 m
- Period 6 s
- Light offshore
Level 2 / flat rock shelf
The Reef
Longer, cleaner walls peeling over a clear turquoise shelf. For when you can pop up and trim and want to start linking turns. Boots on, the rock is sharp.
- Wave 0.9 to 1.6 m
- Period 11 s
- Light cross-shore
Level 3 / improvers only
Point Break
Our long right-hander off Skerra Head. It stands up, throws a lip and peels for a hundred and fifty metres. Instructor in the water, and you need to be happy in green waves.

- Period 14 s
- Offshore breeze
